Practice area(s)

IP/Licensing and Transactions

What drew you to this practice area?

I loved IP Law in law school, and I love being at the forefront of innovation! It feels like working in Silicon Valley and that every day there’s a bright idea right around the corner.

A case, matter, or project you're especially proud of.

I assisted the school of education in licensing a guidebook they created to help educators use assistive learning devices for children with disabilities. It was a reminder of how impactful and meaningful our work is. This one was also personal.

Who has been a mentor or role model in your career, and what did you learn from them?

Judge Sarah Zabel taught me to keep pushing through even when something doesn’t work out.

What does being part of this community of women lawyers mean to you?

It’s so important to have a community of women to lift each other up in a profession that is still male dominated. Beyond my career, MDFAWL has given me some amazing female friendships.

What's the best part of being involved in the legal community here in Florida?

The galas!

What's something people are surprised to learn about you?

I don’t own a TV. Home is for peace and quiet.

If you weren't practicing law, what would you be doing?

Definitely a baker. I would have a cute little cupcake shop.

A quote or motto you live by.

Speak your mind, even if your voice shakes.
