LOCAL LACTATION SPACE DIRECTORY

MDFAWL worked to create lactation rooms to support attorneys, jurors, court users, and employees at the courthouses with a dedicated, comfortable, quiet space for lactation. Please see the following protocols for use of the Lactation Rooms in courthouses across the county.

 Coral Gables Branch Courthouse (3100 Ponce De Leon Boulevard, Coral Gables, FL 33134)

• The Lactation Room is located in Room 102, on the 1st floor of the Coral Gables Branch Courthouse.

• Users may access the room by making a request at the security desk located in the main lobby.

• For questions, contact the Building Manager’s Office at: 305-547-0167

 

Dade County Courthouse (73 West Flagler Street, Miami, Florida 33130)

• The Lactation Room is located in Room 304, next to the public restrooms on the 3rd floor of the Dade County Courthouse.

• Users may access the room by requesting court staff call the Building Manager’s office directly.  A representative from the Building Manager’s Office will meet the user at Room 304 to grant access. Court users may also request access in person at the security desk in the Courthouse Lobby.

Lawson E. Thomas Courthouse Center (175 NW 1 Avenue, Miami, FL 33128)

• The Lactation Room is located in Room 1525, within conference room 1526 on the 15th floor.

• Users may access the room by making a request at the security desk located on the first floor lobby.

• For questions, contact the Building Manager’s Office at: 305-349-5500

 

Miami-Dade County Children’s Courthouse (155 NW 3 ST, Miami, FL 33128)

• The Lactation Room is located in Room 4354, within the Court Care area, room 4355 on the 4th floor.

• Users may access the room by going to Court Care in room 4355.

Richard  E. Gerstein Justice Building (1351 NW 12 ST, Miami, FL 33125)

• The Lactation Room is located in Room 238 on the 2nd floor.

• Users may access the room by making a request at the security desk on the first-floor lobby.

South Dade Justice Center (10710 S.W. 211 Street, Miami, Florida 33189)

• The Lactation Room is located in Room 1305, on the 1st floor.

• Users may access the room by making a request at the security desk located on the first-floor lobby.

United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida

• The United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida has a program to provide space and support needs for nursing mothers, including access to lactation rooms. This includes lawyers coming to Court for hearings or trials, litigants and employees. Coordinators for these services have been established at each Court location. Individuals seeking assistance should contact the coordinator in advance of the scheduled court proceeding, or upon notification, so that appropriate accommodation can be arranged. Contact may be made by phone, fax, in writing, or in person.
