Our Mission Statement

MDFAWL is a voluntary bar association dedicated to promoting the advancement of women in the legal profession, expanding leadership opportunities available to its members, and advocating in support of women’s rights.

The organization is committed to building a diverse and inclusive membership and strives to provide its members with equal opportunities to participate.  MDFAWL welcomes legal professionals of all genders, races, religions, ethnicities, sexual orientations, socioeconomic backgrounds, and those with disabilities.

We are all #MDFAWL.

Lawyers and non-lawyers of all genders who support our mission are eligible for membership in MDFAWL.

We are the Miami-Dade Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, not of Women Lawyers.

The organization has a strong voice on non-partisan issues affecting women lawyers, including representation on The Florida Bar Board of Governors, The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors, the National Conference of Women Bar Associations, and the National Association of Women Lawyers. The MDFAWL President will personally pen letters of support for members who seek judicial, JNC, or state-level government appointments.
