MDFAWL is so excited to celebrate our judiciary and the holidays this year at Komodo Miami on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. In the spirit of holiday giving, MDFAWL wishes to spread the joy of the season and help our members and guests also spread that joy. MDFAWL is pleased to announce that we will be collecting gifts for children currently or formerly residing at Lotus House at the Judicial Reception. Lotus House is the largest women’s shelter in the country, sheltering more than 1,500 women and children each year.
Please donate only new and unwrapped gifts. Lotus House cannot accept items that are used, broken, missing parts, or present a choking hazard. In addition, Lotus House cannot accept donations of Barbie dolls, stuffed animals, toy guns, or weapons- or violence-related toys. Alternatively, purchase items included on Lotus House's Amazon Wish List.
We also are excited to collect donations of gift cards at the Judicial Reception. MDFAWL will provide all donated gift cards to Dade Legal Aid for distribution to its clients during the holiday season.
