What type of legal work do you do? 

I adjudicate county civil claims.

When and why did you join MDFAWL?

In 2020, to associate with and participate in the building of strong women lawyers and show their impact in our community.

What was your most rewarding professional achievement? 

One of my most rewarding professional achievements was presiding over and closing out a long-standing, acrimonious civil case involving complex issues between the parties but managing to earn their trust and navigate the case to a resolution, which the parties had never thought possible. I felt really good afterwards when the parties thanked me and told me how just and fair they felt I had been to both sides.

What advice do you have for women in the legal profession?

I would advise all women to be confident in their abilities, skills, and qualifications as they advance in the profession and to never let their voices be stifled or made to feel that they are not relevant.
