Yarden Kakon
Where do you work?
White & Case LLP
What type of legal work do you do?
Commercial Litigation
What advice do you have for women in the legal profession?
Be your own best advocate. Some of my most rewarding opportunities came from having the courage to ask for them. Mentors and supporters are vital, but no one will know your ambitions and be able to stand up for them better than you do. Advocating for yourself also demonstrates your commitment and passion–qualities that inspire others and propel your career forward.
What does your pro bono practice look like?
My pro bono practice includes working on immigration, international child abduction petitions under the Hague Convention, animal rights, and criminal justice matters.
When you have 30 minutes of free time, how do you use it?
When I find a spare 30 minutes, I enjoy escaping into a good book. It's a refreshing break from the demands of the legal profession. Currently, I am reading The God of the Woods by Liz Moore
