When and why did you join MDFAWL?
I joined MDFAWL in 2013, not long after I moved to South Florida and began practicing in Miami. As a young lawyer, I was seeking a supportive community dedicated to advancing women in the legal profession. A few people that I knew and trusted spoke highly of MDFAWL’s commitment to mentorship, professional development, and advocacy. The organization provides valuable networking opportunities and a platform to amplify calls for inclusion and equality.
What advice do you have for women in the legal profession?
Cultivate relationships. Networking isn’t just about advancing your career; it’s about finding a community that shares insights, offers guidance, and helps you stay resilient during challenging times.
Know your worth and don't be shy about it.
Keep an open mind. As you learn and grow into your purpose, success may take on different forms than you originally envisioned.
