Recap: GOOD Guys Kick-Off and Wine Event

On November 16, 2021, MDFAWL hosted its annual GOOD Guys Kick-Off and Wine Event. The GOOD Guys Program was created by the National Conference of Women’s Bar Associations to recognize “Guys Overcoming Obstacles to Diversity”. This year, MDFAWL honored both male and female managing partners, firm leaders, members of the judiciary and leaders of in-house legal teams in Miami-Dade County who are dedicated to advancing women in the legal profession. GOOD Guys were encouraged to invite a rising female superstar to accompany them to the event.
The GOOD Guys program is centered on a Pledge taken by the GOOD Guys to support women lawyers through concrete actions, like increasing the percentage of women who serve in leadership roles, assessing potential pay gaps or hiring discrepancies, and working to recruit and retain qualified women lawyers. The Pledge is paired with a “Monday Morning To-Do List”, which acts as a roadmap to help GOOD Guys uphold their pledges by checking in with themselves throughout the year.
